It's almost that time of the year again -- the migration of the horseshoe crabs on the Eastern Shore. I went with a hiking Meetup group last year to Slaughter Beach in Delaware
. At first, nada, nothing, zilch. Then we spotted one. It was dead. Then a live one. Then before we knew it, there were piles of the prehistoric beasties everywhere.
The best part of this adventure. It was only a few hours away and barely cost anything. Adventures can be found locally and can be a day trip. Spice up your life with a daytrip! Check out Meetup Groups. Don't worry. They're not singles groups.

Earn it to Burn it
Tanzania. Now before you think I'm a spoiled rich bitch, think about this. I work full time and have two side jobs. Yes, there are days I am up past midnight, feeling like I could either cry or pass out, but I push myself because I really love to travel. And traveling is expensive.
There are also days when I would love to go out for a margarita with pals or weekends where I'd rather not do anything at all, but traveling is a demanding mistress. So I do my side jobs and dream of Africa or whatever my next destination will hopefully be. Of course, it's not all work, no play for me. I do occasionally go out. It's just not all the time.
Of course, if you have children at home, working long hours like this would not be a good idea. I was all about being there for my kids when they were growing up (still am, actually, but they're at college). But if your children have also flown the coop, and you've been complaining of being bored, look for a side job that interests you and plan your travels with the extra cash you'll have.

No Moss
Life is an adventure. You spent your teens and twenties figuring out the world. Your thirties and forties developing your career and turning little kids into self-sufficient adults, but now it's time for you. And there is a whole world of adventure and things to do out there.
See that sleepy little guy. He's a sea lion pup I met in the Galapagos. Maybe, going to the Galapagos has been your dream, too, but you've always thought "Some day." Why not now? It's a cliche, but so true. You only live once. It could be taken from you tomorrow. Don't let moss grow on you while you dream about a tomorrow that may never come.
